Hello!
My name is Rachel Younker and I am a senior in the Interior Design Program at the University of Wisconsin - Stout (CIDA Accredited). I am also double minoring in Sustainability and Psychology.
Some unique experiences I have had outside of Interior Design while at UW-Stout include playing collegiate soccer, working on a microbiology study, and studying abroad in Belize!
Soccer
I have been on the team since freshman year, and was a captain this past season. I will be returning to UW-Stout for the Fall 2023 semester to finish my psychology minor and use my last year of eligibility! Athletics has taught me time management and hard work, and has also given me some amazing opportunities.
Microbiology Study
Myself and three other students have been working to test the antimicrobial properties of materials including upholstery, solid surface, porcelain tile, and more. This was something I never expected to do as an interior design major!
Study Abroad to Belize
I studied abroad in Belize during winterm 2022. Some highlights were snorkeling, drinking water out of bamboo, hiking to waterfalls, exploring into an ancient mayan cave, and swimming in bioluminescent algae!
